THE TREE OF SPHERES AND ITS FUNCTION

The tree of Spheres, or as it is known, The Tree of Life, reflects the parallel dimensional worlds existing at the base of Creation. Through this system, the soul and its parts can execute its lessons and “tikunim” and learning it has come to experience. The Tree of Spheres is divided according to the basic laws, which the Creator used in His Creation. All of this Creation is based on polarities, meaning there is a right, a left and a middle, which is the zero point connecting the two polarities. As in our electric systems there is a plus, a minus and a zero. Obviously, each polarity performs differently, presenting different difficulties, types of success and all according to the forces at work at that polarity. In order to begin understanding the function of The Tree of Spheres, one must realize the functions of each polarity.

The Right Polarity is the part that expands and is without limits. If we were to translate it into elements, then Fire would be on the right, spreading through a dry field, over large areas, making it very difficult to direct it as one wishes. The element of Water on the right is like a deep and wide ocean. Here, too, it is very vast and one experiences lack of control. The element of Air on the right is like a wind carrying us without our ability to direct it. The element of Earth on the right is like a vast fertile meadow with all kinds of wild plants, in which one can not garden.

The Left Polarity is the one that restricts, is precise and places everything in a framework one can control as s/he wishes. The element of Fire on the left is like a flame-gun that spits fire one can direct as necessary. The element of Water on the left is like a fire-fighter’s hose, squirting water with force in a way that can be controlled and directed. The element of Air on the left is like a wind tunnel used for aviation experiments. One can regulate the level of wind and direct it as needed. The element of Earth on the left is like a small home garden, in which the gardener controls all that grows there and can plant, pull out or exchange plants as he wishes.

The Zero Zone expresses the best of both polarities and learns to use them while knowing how to avoid their negativity. The element of Fire in the zero zone will allow full control of the fire in the open field, for expansion along with full control. The element of Water in the zero zone will provide the power and the space of the sea, but will teach us to control its inner storms. The element of Air in the zero zone gives us the possibility to create widespread wind along with the tool with which we won’t lose control, allowing us to direct it in any direction. The element of Earth in the zero zone allow us to grow an entire meadow full of plants, to be the gardeners and to know how to regulate their growth.

From a Kabbalistic perspective, the right polarity is the zone of compassion and involves the wish to give, the left polarity is the zone of judgment(din) and includes the wish to receive, the zero zone constitutes the connection between them and is called the Hassids” Light, (Or Hachasidim) and expresses the wish to receive in order to give.

The Tree of Spheres, through the ten spheres it encompasses, is meant to bring the primary Light, for us to use, to all of Creation, including us. That is why the Tree of Spheres charges itself with energy and decomposes its energy in a specific order and this is how The Group of Five explains the procedure:

The Tree of Spheres, as you know, looks like it’s standing, meaning that when one puts it on a writing tool of the third dimension, it is constructed of vertical circles on the right, vertical circles on the left and vertical circles in the middle. In order for you to try to see the function of those fruit from the higher worlds to the lower worlds, you must understand the essence of rotation. The rotations creating the left direction, those you see as counter to the direction of that instrument you use to measure time, creates a condition of energetic release, thus releasing the energy it contains. When the rotation is to the right, in other words, in the direction of your instruments for measuring time, energy is being charged.

Accordingly, you can see that the upper three spheres rotate together to the left while releasing their energetic force towards the lower spheres. All the lower spheres rotate to the right, thus charging themselves with the energy that was released by rotating to the left. However, it is important to realize that if those upper three spheres were to rotate only to the left, how would they be charged? They must be charged from the source of The Great Light. Even though they all rotate to the left, they themselves rotate around themselves to the right, thus both charging and releasing their energy themselves through rotations. The lower spheres function in the same fashion, as they must transfer those energy waves they receive from the three upper spheres. They must lower the energy when the leading force from sphere to sphere is charged on time and creates the passage towards the lowest spheres. That is why each unit is charged together by rotating to the right, but each one itself rotates to the left. Thus, it releases the charge of energy received from the right in the direction of the lower spheres by rotating to the left. Now you can understand that the Tree of Spheres rotates in a number of ways. It has its individual energetic input from the spheres and total concentration of the system towards the lowest section, being filled and emptied slowly and individually until Malchut.
